Exploring Your Feminine Energy in Business

This week, I thought it would be fun to revisit and explore the feminine side of our energy. I mentioned this in an earlier email about creativity, but we are digging so much deeper today.

For those who might be new here, our bodies hold both feminine and masculine energy. The feminine is housed on the left and the masculine on the right. In a perfect world, these energies are balanced, creating harmony physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

But more often than not, we tend to operate heavier on one side or the other. This happens for a lot of reasons, but typically it’s our environment and what it needs from us at the time. So when it comes time to balance both energies, it takes a lot of situational awareness to work through it.

Now, you might be wondering…Krysta, I’m following what you’re saying, but what do these energies DO? Great question!

Are You Operating in Your Feminine or Masculine Energy?

Next question that you might be thinking, how do I know which energy I’m operating more in?

I’m so glad you asked! Let’s make this easy…answer the following questions in your head.

  1. Do I consider myself hyper-independent most of the time?

  2. Are you more likely to do something yourself before asking for help?

  3. Are you generally a competitive person?

  4. Do you tend to just “push through” things when things get hard? Or “brush the dirt off”?

  5. Are you generally closed off to others about your emotions and how you’re feeling?

If you answered “yes” to most of these, chances are you are operating in your masculine energy. And there’s nothing wrong with that, because I also tend to lean more towards that as well, which is why I am so familiar with it.

Honestly, it took me years in yoga to realize and fully accept that I could CHOOSE which energy to operate in and not just go with whatever my environment demands of me. And you can do the same.

Exercises to Tap Into Your Feminine Energy

Here are some easy exercises to help you rebalance, nurture, and tap into your feminine energy.

  • Meditation. Even start with 3-5 minutes. Remembering that the goal isn’t to “quiet the mind” but to let your thoughts pass by without judgment or additional thought. I like to think of them as clouds passing by.

  • Laughter. Find a friend or partner and see who can make the other laugh harder. 10/10 recommend.

  • Let yourself BE in a relationship. This was one of the HARDEST things for me to do. Letting my husband do things for me. Call me a “trad” wife, but empowering my husband to do things changed me and changed our relationship.

  • Always have something to be excited about. Connect to your future. This is from Brendon Burchard who says to build in something you can be excited about every week. Discuss it. Talk about it. This allows you to feel the feminine nature of big picture thinking.

  • Let yourself be silly. Tap into your inner child. Roll around on the ground for no reason. Do a cartwheel. Color with crayons. Make “magic potions” with dirt.

  • Be creative. This is a chore for some, but you don’t have to be “good” at it. Start writing. Cook something. Create a flower bouquet for your home. Do something crafty.

You might have rolled your eyes at a couple of these, but truthfully, we (as a society) have gotten away from nurturing this side of us. Which is why women tend to lean towards their masculine energy.

This may have been my longest email yet. And if you made it here, first of all, I love you, and thank you for being here. This work is important regardless of where you are in life. So dig in and lean in.

A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself.
