Finding Purpose in Stillness
Before we get into this week’s email, after reading this intro, I want you to close your eyes. Place one hand on your chest and one hand on your belly. Obviously, I can’t know if you do this, but trust me here…take this singular moment for yourself. Now take a breath.
While this might just be another email in your inbox, I want you to dig deeper. Focus on the words on your screen, and see what comes up for you with no judgment.
Another week, another opportunity for self-reflection and stillness.
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time slowing down. I enjoy pushing myself to 110%. It’s a comfortable pace, and it keeps me busy.
So what happens when I drop down to 85%? My mind and body go haywire. That probably says something deeper about who I am, but that’s not the purpose of this email today.
Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re likely in the same boat to some extent.
So, what can slowing down teach us? Much like the purpose of this email, the goal of taking a step back is to give you space to see the world for what it is. To see new opportunities. To recognize patterns (healthy or not). To stop and smell the flowers.
When we are constantly moving, we don’t have time to absorb anything. Let alone be present or aware.
So while slowing down might be uncomfortable. You might have the urge to add a bunch of things to your plate (guilty). I encourage you to sit with your feelings. Allow yourself to be uncomfortable because there is purpose in that stillness. There is something to learn from it.
And you never know what might come out of it.
I truly love sharing these deeper messages with you, and if this landed somewhere in your body today, I’d love to hear from you and what you took from it. Just hit that little “reply” button, and it goes right to my personal email.
Sending love and energy your way this week for whatever you’re working through. I see you. I believe in you.
